MY STORY

EARLY AGE

DELORD HAS ALWAYS BEEN DELORD

At the age of 16 I was playing in a cover band of Deep Purple, the keyboardist of the English hard rock band was called John Lord, so it was from that moment that many people started calling me Lord. I liked it because it had inherent a romantic and classy meaning like the “English lords”. A little Englishman was the pronunciation of some organizers who instead of correctly calling me “The Lord”, wrote “DeLord”.

I liked it and it made me laugh, I chose it and I became for everyone
DeLord, the poet pianist.

PART 1

From the Band to Visual Piano (2009-2013)

During my solo career I also played with the DNR band, we made J-Rock music, all created by us and that we liked around. We began to travel and travel, from the Alcatraz of Milan or the icy Moscow in Russia. I liked to play with this double life and present new ideas, proposing my music so classic and romantic in the bar where you listen to heavy metal or hip pop. Staying halfway between two worlds made me tired and the thrill of playing solo was dropping on the stage with psychedelic lights. Thus began an intense period to finally propose me to the theater. I committed myself night and day to present a project that was realized with Visual Piano, a theatrical show that combined music, poetry, dance and 3D mapping. I created with my hands, not only to slide them on the keyboard, but also to construct a structure with all my poems in relation to the paintings to trigger an inner reflection to the participants.

Visual Piano on tour and at my side Benisi Marco, the 3D mapping wizard. During Visual Piano I presented the album Sognare I along with my collection of poems and then I’ll finish Sognare II.

PART 2

To dream is to travel and meditate (2014-2015)

In 2014 I start working on a new project, again alone and again with the need to express a message. I do it with Glass (it will then become Seven). I approach quantum physics and spirituality for my personal research. I start working on it and I publish the first single of the project: “Un Respiro”. This allows me to combine meditation and artistic representation during my performances. By letting the audience listen to the song, I shared methods for breathing control, to discover hidden parts of our sould and to get to know each other better.
Video materials of all kinds are interested in my music as soundtrack. This is the case “Ameln”, the short film that won an award from the European Union in the category of human rights. Music turns; in weddings, promotional material, independent documentaries, videoclips.

Internet becomes the mirror of the people, to those who follow me, letting me know what to look for and why.

PART 3

VETA and a new way of making music

While I’m working to my new LP, I’m playing in several theaters and events including Piano City in Milan, I want to find a new setup for my performances. Passionate about vintage, I look around at my house and I notice my TV collection from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Colorful, important for our culture, symbol of a changing society. I see in them a new use: remove dust and insert lights that can transmit something to the viewer through chromotherapy. The idea of constructing a one-shot scene turns into a real project to which I dedicate my heart and soul. The colored TVs become VETA, lights with chromotherapy and speakers to allow them to change the environment and impress. I present them at Salone del Mobile, through @scabdesign, in the 2016 edition. The VETA TVs become an integral part of DeLord’s performance, combining chromotherapy with every piece I play.

I ask myself many questions about the meaning of life and I start writing new songs to finish the album Glass. The project is interrupted, I know Mattia, Mattia Rissone, who brings me to Japan.

PART 4

The Gates of Japan

The proposal was to work on a project that would bring together Italian and Japanese culture by contrasting traditions, culinary arts and spirituality, identifying connections through music and visual arts. We will call it Gate, because it refers to the concept of “door” as a passage, something unknown but also a connection between one thing and another. Japan is a country that has always fascinated me, I have flung myself from 2015 to April 2018 to work in the production of 9 video clips and 10 pieces of music.

I go to Japan, Mattia comes to Italy and with him other people I met on the way.

PART 5

The discovery of Theta Healing

Japan’s project is still underway and I met a shaman, who tells me about Theta Healing, technique that teaches how to best use intuitiveness. I like it, I immediately feel akin to this philosophy that begins to finally give answers to the questions I’ve been doing for some time.

I deepen the technique and I attend courses and meetings, taking various certifications. It stimulates me and the Glass project resumes. (it will become Seven)
